This medicine belongs to a group of medicines called calcium antagonists. It is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) or a type of chest pain called angina. In patients with high blood pressure, this medicine causes the blood vessels to relax, allowing blood to pass more easily. In patients with angina, it works by increasing the blood supply to the heart muscle which receives more oxygen and as a result prevents chest pain.

Mode of administration: Oral use.
Dosage: The recommended starting dose of Amlodipine is 5 mg once daily. The dose may be increased to 10 mg once daily.
